Solenopsis xyloni (Southern Fire Ant)

Solenopsis xyloni minor worker workers on barrel cactus extrafloral nectaries. The lumps in the photo above are extrafloral nectaries. The cacti secrete a sweet fluid from these glands, and the ants love to eat it.
